What a Year !!!!!!!!!
For us at BEC, 2006 has been very eventful. We end the year knowing that we accomplished quite a lot of our plans.
Our training programmes were well attended and successful, our website went live, we have taken on many clients and candidates, worked on projects with schools, partnered with Select Education UK. recruited expatriate staff for schools, completed curriculum documents, including the merged Nigerian and National Curriculum of England, and so much more
Headteachers and Teachers.
This year, we recruited Headteachers and Teachers from various parts of the world for schools in and outside of Lagos.
We are glad to note that most of them have settled in well. We wish them a pleasant stay in Nigeria.
Curriculum
As mentioned in an earlier Newsletter, we have worked on curriculum development and have completed documents which are quite detailed. If you or any colleague requires further information, please contact our office.
Inspection
This is an area we have been asked about. We are pleased to inform you that we now offer this service in collaboration with a UK firm.
Training 2007
If you have any training needs, we shall be happy to tailor a programme to suit the needs. Our August 2006 training on Primary Literacy with Valerie Pottinger-Noble and Stuart Roberts, is still being talked about. 80 trainees from three schools benefited from the workshops.
Already, we have been contacted to organise an August 2007 training on Primary Science.
Spaces will be limited. If you are interested and do not want to be caught up in what has happened in the last two years, when we were not able to register trainees after a deadline, please indicate interest now. We are still in the early stages, therefore costs and logistics will be communicated later.
BEC Candidates
As part of our contribution to the education industry, we intend to organise workshops for teachers on our database at no cost to them. The purpose is to upgrade the value of individual teachers in their chosen profession. Seeing that we have hundreds of candidates on the database, we will work out a schedule of dates and categories/subjects. We will give preference to those currently unemployed. Information will be posted on our website at the end of January, 2007.

Training Needs Survey
Most of our training classes have concentrated on topics requested by our Teacher candidates, though we have also delivered training for schools.
To better service schools and be relevant, we would want to identify particular needs.
In the New Year, we shall be sending out survey forms. They will be kept confidential. We would appreciate if you help us to help our Teachers.
